Selling on the Peninsula? One last chance before Christmas
Te Atatu Peninsula is one of those places people don't leave lightly. So when they do decide to sell, timing matters. If you're thinking about making a move before the year is out, the date to know is Wednesday 9 December 2026.
That's The Day, A T Realty Group's big-stage auction event, and the last one before Christmas. We're calling it One Christmas Day.
Peninsula buyers know what they want
Water on three sides. The coastal walkway and reserves on your doorstep. A quick run onto the motorway and into the city. Buyers looking on the Peninsula usually know the area well and have a clear picture of the home they're after.
That's a real advantage for sellers, because when the right home comes up, these buyers move. What they need is a reason to act now rather than "think about it". An auction gives them a firm date, and The Day gives them a room full of competition.
How The Day works
The Day brings many auction campaigns to market together and sells them in one high-energy event. Your home isn't just another listing. It's part of an event buyers prepare for, which creates urgency and turns interest into bids.
Since it launched in July 2023, The Day has run 17 events, selling 475 homes worth more than $414 million. More than 4,290 bidders have registered, with an average clearance rate of 63% and five or more registered bidders per property.
Can't get to the auction room? Every auction on The Day streams live on AuctionsLIVE, so buyers, and your family, can watch or bid from anywhere.
Why December, and why now
December buyers aren't browsing for later. Many want to secure a home before the holidays. At the same time, lots of vendors hold off until the new year, so there are fewer homes competing for the same buyers.
Wait until January and you'll be listing alongside everyone else who waited. Sell in December and you can head into 2027 with a sale locked in and a clear plan.
Auction, by the numbers
Over the last 12 months, A T Realty Group's auction listings were almost twice as likely to sell within 90 days as private treaty listings: 64% compared with 35%. In the last three months, auction listings averaged 31 days on market, compared with 56 days for private treaty.
Your campaign timeline
To be part of The Day, your campaign needs to start in early November. Dates are indicative and confirmed with you:
- By Tuesday 10 November: agency agreement signed
- Friday 13 November: photography
- Wednesday 18 November: your home goes live
- Four weeks of marketing: open homes, buyer meetings and digital advertising across Facebook, Instagram and Google
- Wednesday 9 December: auction day
Places are limited, so it pays to talk early.
